Charlesland Gets Mighty Social

I can see everyone’s house from here…

ith the winter evening walks having taken a firm hold, a new social group is now being formed down Charlesland way.

The idea being that the neighbouring estates can put their heads together to come up with community initiatives and events, and generally nab each other’s biscuits.

“We had a small get-together just before Christmas,” explains one of the ringleaders, Mark Barry, “where it was just coffee and tea, old school country style, with 27 people showing up to chat and bounce ideas around.

“It’s Charlesland, Glenheron, Hawkins, Archers and anyone else who wants to join in. We had another meeting on Wednesday and we’re hoping to grow and grow, as the community comes together. It’s a great way for people to simply get to know their neighbours…”

The next get together will be Friday, February 23rd, from 7pm to 9pm, at the Charlesland Community Centre, and people are invited to bring along some cake and biscuits to share. Or else.
