aving just had their first meeting a week ago, it was clear from the outset that a Charlesland Park Neighbourhood Watch was a damn good idea.
Less than seven days later, and that meeting had garnered almost 300 members for the new group – and it’s only just begun.
We swung down to Charlesland this afternoon to talk to resident Mark Barry and local councillor Jennifer Whitmore – both instrumental in setting up the Neighbourhood Watch – to find out about what’s being done to combat crime in the area, and what they hope to achieve.
Suffice to say, when it comes to crime, many eyes make light work. And the proper taser can go a long way.
If you’re living in Charlesland, and want to get involved in the Neighbourhood Watch – and it can be just a matter of being connected with your the rest of your street on social media – you can email Barry on mk.barry@live.com or Jennifer on whitmore.jennifer@gmail.com.
