o be honest, it was pretty obvious as soon as the starting pistol sounded that Enso were going to win.
They started out well in the lead, maintained that lead for the month and then – yep! – won our vote for The Perfect Greystones Pizza.
And despite the fact that he doesn’t look all that impressed on our cover shot, head honcho Tim Crooks is well chuffed.
“Even my mum was getting excited by the voting,” he laughs. “And what was really surprising – and rewarding – was that people weren’t just voting, they were leaving wonderful comments too.
“Even if we hadn’t won, those comments just made my day…”
There were other formidable contenders in a town with plenty of pizzerias to choose from. We were sure The Pizza Truck could end up pipping Enso to the post, but, it appears, hipsters just don’t like to put their vote where their mouth often is. And it’s possible that many others felt a behemoth like Domino’s just didn’t need a Greystones win, given that they’ve already conquered quite a chunk of the planet.
Shout-out too to Pigeon House, Platform Pizza and Pizza Shack, who got their fair share of votes.
