Bring out your inner ginger…

Bring out your inner ginger…
he Bray branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri are expanding their weekly
diddley-aye music classes every Thursday in Greystones with new Wednesday sessions.
So, if you’ve ever wanted to annoy your neighbours through the magical sounds of banjo, bodhrán, concertina, harp, fiddle, flute, tin whistle, uilleann pipes, singing or just dancing like a loon on fire, now’s your chance.
The Comhaltas Bhré gang are also giving lessons in grúpa ceoil. Which, as far as we know, is illegal in at least 15 counties.
Bray Comhaltas is part of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, which is the largest group involved in the preservation and promotion of Irish traditional music. Comhaltas is a non-profit cultural movement with hundreds of local branches around the world and was founded in 1951.
The Bray branch is run entirely by volunteers and only the teachers are reimbursed for their time. There is a branch committee that is elected at an AGM each year. As a branch member, you are invited to attend and vote at this meeting. Outside of the committee, volunteers are welcome for an hour or two on a Thursday night.
