Seen as a platform that empowers kids to express

Hey, kids, рок н рол
s part of Cruinniú na nÓg – Ireland’s national day of free creativity for children
– the Coolnagreina kids unveiled their very own Rhyme Island rap video down Trafalgar Road this afternoon.
Celebrating their life in Greystones since escaping war-torn Ukraine, Better Days Ahead Of Me does exactly what it says in the chorus.
And the launch attracted not only the young stars up on the screen but such local luminaries as that Harper lass, yer man from The Whale, Rise At The Cove’s guv, Gav, the Stokes lad, and the one agus only Judge Gillian Hussey.
Says Tiglin chairman Aubrey McCarthy, “It was wonderful to see the smiles on the faces of young people from Coolnagreina as they were producing the video; they were so excited to show it to everyone today…“
The Coolnagreina kids will represent Greystones under the Rhyme Island category.
Rhyme Island is a powerful initiative that aims to ignite the creative spark in young people under 18 across the island of Ireland – more info here.
Seen as a platform that empowers kids to express
their thoughts, dreams, and stories through the dynamic mediums of rap, songwriting, and video, the plan is to instill in children a recognition in the power of their own voices.
Whether they can sing or not.
And for today’s big launch at the Greystones Youth Café, beyond all the beautiful people turning out, our happy snapper, John McGowan, was in the groove too, of course. He had heard there was going to be a free barbecue.
