Having pretty much floored Bray with their kick-ass cuisine for the last 15 years, the delicious Daata came to the realisation that they might just be ready for somewhere as cool as Greystones.
And they were right.
Situated just off the main street, just a bhaji’s throw from The Happy Pear and around the corner from The Bitter Lemon, this renowned Indian and Pakistani restaurant has quickly established itself as a town favourite.
But, hey, enough of our yakking – here’s a little history for ya…
There once was a man who worked very hard and helped his family back in Pakistan to make a living. It started to become difficult so he decided to save up to come to Ireland in 1992 and make a living in his new life. He worked as head chef of the Shalimar Restaurant in Georges street for a good 5 years or so.
In 1999,He finally had saved up to start up a new business of his own, a family run business, in Bray Co.Wicklow. He named the takeaway Daata Tandoori. To this day, for the past 15 years, Daata Tandoori has been running successfully, happily serving the Bray and Greystones area with authentic Indian food.
Darn tootin’. Especially if you’ve had the chef’s curry special, Gandhi’s Revenge.
You can find out more about Daata on their Facebook page here, and in our rather fine GGTV chat with the charming Fahid right here. You can also book yourself a table on 012878100. You can also download their app for ordering here, get your takeaway kick here, check out their Saturday brunch here, and their early bird menu here.
