Dylan Goes Eclectic

As anyone who has followed George Harrison’s career will tell you, it’s the quiet ones that you really have to watch.

Quiet ones like Dylan Earle Crampton, a guitar-totin’ Greystones teenager who grew up the shy baby of a household where the amp light was always on.

Dad Stuart is one of the most in-demand session guitarists around (and quite possibly Greystones’ finest music teacher), whilst mum Val has raised the roof of many a venue as she belts out some well-earned blues. Older brother Elliot has already enjoyed chart success with his former band, The Redwoods, and is currently mastering every instrument known to man and Beck, whilst sister Claudia – the even quieter quiet one – is clearly getting ready to start a Bush fire all of her own.

So, with all that pedigree, and all those years of playing live, we shouldn’t really be all that surprised that Dylan Crampton’s debut single, Jimmy & Cecil, has turned out to be two minutes and 30 seconds of pure power pop heaven. Like a great, lost, Revolver-era Beatles gem, Jimmy & Cecil demands to be played again. And again.

And then, sure, feck it, once again.
