e’ve been bouncing back and forth with Greystones Languages For Children since 2013, and only recently realised that, hey, we’d never actually met.
Glenda!
“We are now into our 3rd and final term of 2023-2024,” says GLFC teacher Glenda Keedwell, “and what a wonderful year we have had. I took over the Greystones Languages for Children from the lovely Rachel Kennedy – the whole thing having started with the great Georgia Gallagher – and it’s just been a joy, teaching these kids new languages, and new ways of thinking.”
With classes in St Kevin’s National School, Greystones Community National School, Exam Focus and the St Patrick’s Centre, Glenda teaches kids all the way from primary school junior infants right up to 6th class.
“There’s an old Chinese proverb that says, ‘To learn a language is to have one more window from which to look at the world‘, and I really believe that,” says Glenda. “The brain is a muscle too, and at a young age, learning a foreign language can really help a child to absorb and retain new information.”
Dang. Too late for GG. C’est la vie, as they say in Italy.
