moustache about it…
Which may explain how you can have two big literary love-ins happening in Greystones on the same evening.
Over in The Whale, Siofra O’Donovan had her acclaimed novel Malinksi
being brought to life by actor Gerry Cannon as it launched on audiobook, whilst down in Scéal Bakery, one of their most regular customers was given the floor for her debut offering, Another Way: A Guide Out Of The Darkness Into The Light.
Scéal being the writing desk away from her home writing desk as the book came together. So, where better for its launch…?
“My heart is full after an incredible evening at Sceal Bakery,” Georgie tells us. “it was a chance for me to show my gratitude and appreciation to my friends, family and community for all their kindness and support over the years, for my work and for this book.
“I wanted to give back, show my appreciation and gather us together to connect and celebrate. Thanks to you all for coming.
“And thanks to Sceal Bakery for letting me use their beautiful space, to the staff for their hard work and the beautiful food! My heart is full! Thank you!”
Bloom! And our thanks to the town’s no.1 roving snapper, John McGowan, who captured the night. You can check out his full gallery here.
You can find out more about Ms Georgie Durcan and her work here, and order yourself a copy of Another Way right over here.
