Meet De Peoples #2: Mrs Bridie Mooney

he is, of course, pretty much our favourite person in Greystones, and there’s very little doubt too that, after decades serving the town’s great unwashed, Mrs Bridie Mooney has been a mother to us all.

A mother with lots and lots of sweets.

If Greystones ever gets around to building its Mount Rushmore, without question, Mrs Mooney will be one of the four towering faces looking down on us from Bray Head. Alongside Joe Sweeney. And Dustin The Turkey. And Max The Dog.

We’ve caught up a few times over the years with Bridie, making her our very first My Greystones star back in May, 2014, and uncovering her dark little secret only last week, but we thought it was time we let the lady tell her own story. 

And so, here it is, a lazy afternoon chat with a bona-fide Greystones legend, the two of us just shooting the breeze about life, Lidl, loved ones and lollipops.
