The Varadkars hit Greystones…

ollowing the recent Irish Africa Day, Greystones was alight with colour again today for Irish Goa Day.

With music, food stalls, craft market, games and everything you needed to know about this paradise state on the southwestern coast of India, Burnaby Park didn’t know what hit it.

On the music front, Robbie Doyle, Netflix favourite Kim Hayden, Pat’s Ukulele Mob, DJ Xavier and, eh, Michael’s Ballroom Dancing were all be kept in check by MC Victor Evans.

On the fun agus games front, on top of a dog show there will be outdoor bingo with May Smullen, henna tattoos, Goan cuisine, Ava’s Cupcakes, clothing stalls, ice cream, hair-braiding, bouncy castles, popcorn, Knockroe strawberries, jewellery, Vic’s BBQ and, yowsa, Milla’s Famous Indian Curry.

Talk about a full day. And for once in this relentlessly soggy July, the sun came out to join in the fun. For most of the day.

Talking of which, congrats to ringleaders Milla Hancock and Nora Hayden and all the volunteers, sponsors, planners, plotters and party people who made the big day happen.
