There was much whooping and high-fiving at
the 2019 Lambay Rowing Challenge this afternoon when a bunch of Greystones ladies did us proud.
We know this because the Greystones Rowing Club shouted out
some ‘massive congratulations’ to them on social media.
Just what they won, or who exactly was on the winning team, they did not reveal.
And we haven’t been able to find out online either. Everyone’s probably too busy
drying off. And knocking back free Lambay Whiskey.
We do know that Olivia Mackey, Sharon Hughes and Colette Mackey were involved, because they’re tagged in the pics. Turns out, Amanda Halligan and Lauren Keogh also had a strong hand in the win, which was 2nd place in the Ladies Skiff category. Run by the Fingal Rowing Club, the event was held at the Rush Sailing Club.
The local gang sent out big thanks to Higcon Construction Ltd and OutdoorLiving.ie for their sponsorship, and to Willie Doyle over at Lee’s in Kilcoole, for the transport.
Congrats to everyone involved in today’s victory, whoever you are. And whatever race you won.
