Halloween Debate Gives Students The Crêpes

The French Departments of the three Greystones’ secondary schools worked together for the first time when they hosted an inter-school French debate.

It took place in Wednesday, October 23rd, and all three schools were well-represented by their students.

A big shout out to French teachers Cécilia Travers (Temple Carrig School), Bryan O’Dowd (St. David’s School) and Morna Kautzmann (Greystones Community College) for preparing students so well.

The teams were a mix of the 3 schools so the students worked together rather than a school-versus-school competition.

The topic of this first debate was Les jeunes en Irlande devraient être payés pour les tâches ménagères qu’ils effectuent (Young people in Ireland should be paid for the household chores they do) and the opposition won in the end.
