ith St Catherine’s new school going ahead, and an application for a
30m comms mast getting the thumbs up too, the old Holy Faith grounds in Kilcoole is set to have a whole new bunch of residents soon.
An Bord Pleanala have just approved the planning for a new 109-room nursing home on the grounds surrounding Darraghville House, home until 2021 of Sister Miriam and the Luisne gang before those lovely landlords The Sisters Of The Holy Faith decided to cash in their real estate chips.
McGill Planning will build the new facility to the north of the former Holy Faith Convent, or to the south and west of the Convent Lodge on Kilcoole’s main street, if you prefer. The planning application – filed on behalf of Altere Ltd – is for a three-storey building with a floor area of approximately 5,784sqm.
The building will house 109 ensuite bedrooms, with shared dining and day rooms, café, visitor and activity area, treatment room, staff area, support areas, kitchen, and laundry rooms, whilst outside there would be 41 car parking spaces within two car parks.
Or 18 spaces, if they’re Delgany cars.
