It’s A Family Doctors Affair

Our future Taoiseach practises his ribbon cutting…

hen we spoke to Dr Anna Foy back in September, the response from the town was overwhelming.

Here, after all, was the daughter of the much-loved local doc, Pat Foy, returning home to open up her own practice, alongside buddy, Dr Peter Kelly.

And now, their groovy Blacklion clinic has finally gotten around to its official opening.

And who better to cut the ribbon that the Minister Of Health himself, Simon Harris TD…?

Greystones isn’t only about who you know, of course, it’s also about who you’re related to. So, having a local lad-turned-TD officially opening the new clinic of local girl-turned-GP, well, it just goes to show that we’re all just one big happy family around here.

And just to keep the generational groove going, Anna not only brought along her freshly-minted sprog, Anne – who plans to open her own Greystones clinic in 2050 – but also hubby, Dr Mark O’Kelly, mum, Margaret, and brother-in-law, Dr Conor O’Kelly, whilst Peter brought his beautiful wife, Audrey, along with pop, also Dr Peter Kelly, and his beautiful missus, Pauline.

We’re not sure if anyone else was able to squeeze into the room.

Hard to believe, it’s 32 now since the late Dr Pat Foy started as a GP in Greystones.
