Kilcoole House Gets Its Makeover

The original of the species…

pplied for in September 2023, Douglas Hatton Developments got the thumbs up for a mixed-use development at the site of Kilcoole House back in February.

And now, after an appeal, An Coimisiún Pleanála have given the development the thumbs up too.

Situated at the town’s main junction, this was once the hub of the town, especially during the years it stood as Urell’s shop.

With the WCC approval came with 19 pretty standard conditions – viewable here – after just two objections to the Kilcoole planning application.

Suggesting most people in Kilcoole would be happy to see this empty space alive and kicking again.

mixed-use development comprising 2 no. 2-storey 3 bed houses; 1 no. 2-storey detached 2 bed house with car port;3 storey mixed-use corner block comprising 1 no. commercial unit (74sqm) at ground floor level and 1 no. 3 bed duplex unit above;4 no. surface car parking spaces, bicycle and communal bin storage area and all associated site works
