he plan was to swing by FatBike Adventures some time over the weekend or next week…

But, hey, we were in the neighbourhood, taking pics of Oran and Darryl at next door’s new Belmont Demesne eatery, and on a whim, we dropped in.

With a ne’er a feckin’ clue about fatbikes. Or their wacky, woodland adventures.

But, hey, the sun was out. And it might not be back until September.

Brought together by their love of cycling, FatBike Adventures was formed in 2015 by Ian and Wayne, the two buddies having instantly recognised that Belmont Demesne was something close to heaven when it came to bike trails.

As a fourth trail comes on track this week, Ian Boltt has firmly established FatBike Adventures as one of the coolest Wicklow ways to have fun whilst keeping fit.

And, given those big, fat tyres, you can finally fulfil your childhood dream of having a giant BMX.

With their HQ selling everything a bike nut might need (including a range of secondhand and new ebikes), the lads have recently added ice creams – from Ben & Jerry to to Slushies – to their lists of treats. The perfect topping to your wheelie big adventure.

Especially for the young ‘uns tackling their own specially-built bike park just 20 feet away.
