iven that The Man Who Would Be The King was set to join the last Sunday session at The Hot Spot across the road, sure, the man clearly needed a little vitamin Burger to perform.

Namely, a double bacon cheeseburger and a bag of chips.

It’s pretty remarkable that, despite 24 foodie reviews around Greystones, Alan Adamson hasn’t yet sunk his teeth into the town’s most famous takeaway, Sweeney’s.

“We couldn’t have picked a better day to do it,” says the man himself. “Sun is shining, the sky is as blue as I’ve ever seen it, the atmosphere is magic, and everyone looks amazing.

“Especially me…”

Soon, Alan will be wrestling It’s Now Or Never (his personal Elvis favourite) and A Fool Such As I to the ground, with a little help from Pat and Bert and the rest of the monthly Hot Spot session players.

For now though, with his double bacon cheeseburger gulped down in double-time, we have to ask that all important question – has Sweeney’s delivered food fit for The King…?
