t was back in December 2018 that we became aware of the bould Mary Finnegan.

Mary gets her just award
For that was the month that Mary was crowned GP Practice Nurse Of The Year, baby!
At a lavish ceremony in sunny Limerick – boasting two different kinds of smoked salmon, apparently – Mary became the first-ever Wicklow nurse to win the national title.
Mainly because, over her 47 years as a nurse, the woman has become pretty much perfect at it.
Hence the silver plate, the scroll and the crate of Blue Nun.
And now, today, having started at St Vincent’s Hospital on January 4th 1972, the woman is celebrating 50 years as a practice nurse. Which is pretty darn incredible.
