My Greystones: Carolann McDonald

One of the shining lights of the awards magnet that is The Greystones Baton Twirlers, Carolann McDonald has already achieved a ridiculous amount in her 14 years.

Having represented Ireland in both World and European cups since the age of 11, Carolann has just been handpicked to represent our country once again, and will be heading to France in July for the 2016 European Cup.

Not that throwing sticks up in the air whilst jumping about like a fairy on fire is all that Carolann is good at. This beautiful young Greystones girl is also something of a champion player when it comes to Gaelic football, even picking up Player Of The Year in David’s last year. But, she asked us not to mention that. So, we won’t.

And when Carolann isn’t busy accepting awards and medals and cups, this adventurous teens loves nothing more than diving off the rocks at Greystones harbour. Oh, and speaking French.

In other words, Carolann McDonald is capable of breaking hearts within 2.4 seconds of saying “Bonjour”.

Luckily, Carolann’s got pop Anto and mum Lisa, as well as her brother, Sam, and her sister, Zara, to keep her well grounded.

What baffles us though is, where the hell did all this talent, charm and good looks spring from…? Elvis knows.
