t is, of course, a picture postcard kind of village – which may explain why every single developer within a 1,000-mile radius is so keen to build there.

Having just sent out a battle-cry in June over the proposed apartment development behind The Wicklow Arms, Delgany Community Council are now circling the wagons again with news of an application for Bellevue Hill.

It’s here that Gorteen Way Ltd are hoping to plonk 82 new houses. Which should just about take away the last few trees up there.

To fight this latest attempt to turn Wicklow into the garden patio of Ireland, the Delgany Community Council held a public meeting at The Old Schoolhouse on Tuesday, August 30th, at 8pm. We’ll let you know what their cunning plan is as soon as we know…
