It’s A Thin Line Between Dumb & Hate
June 20, 2017

Having wowed the judges at Greystones’ inaugural Stepping Stones: Battle Of The Bands competition, Kilcoole band Feuds got the full VIP prize treatment this afternoon.

As the sun beat relentlessly down on the town – might this have been the hottest day of the year so far? – the fantastic four were upstairs in The Hot Spot, being shot at from all sides.

On portable studio duties was Eoin Whitfield, who managed to bring his Kilcoole-based Hive Studios a few miles down the road. Hovering just over his shoulder – and, indeed, everyone else’s shoulder – was videographer supreme Robin J. Kavanagh, who was capturing the day on film. Pablo Photography, meanwhile, was hovering over his shoulder, capturing Robin capturing Eoin capturing Feuds.

Which, for some reason, makes us want to break into the chorus of Neil Diamond’s Sweet Caroline.

The song should be mixed and ready to roll next week, and the video to go with it the week after that. We can’t feckin’ wait.

By the time that thumpin’ slice of pop heaven lands on your doorstep, we should have the winners of Stepping Stones’ public vote, Taken, ready to get the VIP treatment too.

It would have been sooner, but their spiritual leader, Tara Dempsey, is currently serving time in a Gaeltacht somewhere. Which is just so typical of these rock’n’roll types.

In the meantime, here’s a snippet of the balmy, boisterous and highly productive day down at The Hot Spot this afternoon…
