In the end, Gaelic For Mothers & Others down at Greystones Éire Óg last night attracted nearly 50 fine, healthy and hearty women.

And, bejiggers, they fair kicked the stuffing out of them balls. And they had a ball doing it too.

Aimed at women over the age of 25, and open to those registered or not registered players with the Ladies Gaelic Football Association, the response would suggest there are a lot of Greystones girls gaga for GAA.

“We’re so thrilled with the turnout of ladies,” says Ciara Fagen, who organised the night alongside fellow Healthy Club Committee member Nicola Gibbons. “G4MO is an inclusive, social and fun way to play Gaelic football and stay fit. We’re excited that lots of women agree with us and joined us last night.”
