Many residents in Greystones woke up this morning to find their cars had been broken into and items stolen.

With one resident of The Burnaby telling us this morning that “half of the cars in the area were hit“, we’re still waiting to confirm actual numbers.

We’re also getting reports in that Heathervue and Hillside were heavily targeted too.

Suffice to say, with local garda allegedly very much aware of one particular gang living not too far from Greystones being responsible for a spate of recent robberies and car break-ins, it would appear to be only a matter of time before they can prove their suspicions right.

So, if you have CCTV, go check it.

One witness told us of knocking on her window to scare away a thief attempting to break into their friend’s car only to have the man in question walk right up to the window and stare at her.

From what the Guide has learnt behind the scenes, this goes back to our belief that you should never move a family of foxes into a chicken run.

Hopefully, this whole sorry state of affairs will be rectified soon…
