t’s a well-known fact that yoga will leave you calmer, fitter and a whole lot happier.
And if you should ever doubt it, you should go and say hello to Caroline Whelan.
Despite the fact that this lovely lass is married to Simon Whelan, the lady is always happy, with a smile with enough beaming power to make the sun blush.
We reckon it might have something to do with running The Yoga Barre. And maybe, in a very small way, Simon too.
Caroline Whelan has been teaching yoga classes since 2008 and set up The Yoga Barre in 2016, bringing together a unique blend of all her trainings in yoga and barre.
The latter being the waist-level horizontal bar favoured by ballet dancers, and the former being that old Hindu spiritual and ascetic discipline that gives you inner peace. And firmer buttocks.
The classes are for all levels of ability and all ages, from teens to Neil Diamond fans. They are, we’re told by one fan, “full of fun and energy“, with a mix of cardio, weights, barre exercises, yoga stretches and core work.
And all to a soundtrack of some rockin’ tunes. Including, of course, Sweet Caroline.
Ms Whelan also teaches Pregnancy Yoga, Mum & Baby Yoga, Antenatal Workshops for Couples, Baby Massage and Postnatal Barre.
And given just how beautiful and airy The Yoga Barre HQ is at Willowbrook on Kilcoole’s main street, special guest yoga teachers make a habit of hosting workshops there too.
Oh, and to celebrate Yoga Barre’s arrival on the good ship GG, your first class is just €5 if you quote the Guide. And that’s not all – you can also enjoy 2 classes a week over 6 weeks for just €150, working out at just €12.50 a class. BOOM!
