He comes, of course, from one of Greystones’ most famous – or should that be infamous? – families, but you won’t have seen Richard Roche around town all that much in recent years.
And that’s because the two-timing little son of a chemist moved to Chicago.
That’s 3,670 miles away. Which makes you think, was it something we said? Or were we simply not good enough for this high-fiving, jetsetting advertising whizzkid?
Not for Richard Roche assistant manager at Greystones Credit Union. Chief Marketing & Marshmallows Maintenance at Mooney’s Sweets & Briquettes Emporium? Not good enough, it would seem.
Richard Roche is – deep breath – Executive Vice President, Account Director at global advertisting giants Leo Burnett. If you don’t mind.
So, how come the eejit’s got such a good soul? It might have something to do with the fact, of course, that Tricky Dicky comes from a large and giving – and damn funny (Paul excepted, of course) – family. It may also have something to do with the fact that Richard Roche has got one of the best borderline-illegal laughs you’ll ever hear. Oh, and this boy knows how to party. And it usually involves lots of Stones numbers.
Take a good luck of that pic on the main post above. Anyone who knows Richard will see that he’s looking a tad zombie pale in this particular picture. Well, that’s because it was taken at 2.40am at a party in the suburbs of Chicago about a week ago. By the sink, full of drink, and under the battered glow of an old oven light. Not even Jessica Rabbit is going to look good under those conditions.
Oh, and we should point out that Richard Roche adores Greystones. And nevermoreso than when he moved away. Which is why we included him here. Thought it would be good to hear from one of those Greystonians not quite lucky enough to live in Greystones…
