When it’s finished, it’s going to be a star attraction down at the Greystones Studios on Theatre Lane…
Taking a dead-end corridor and its emergency exit and turning it into something beautiful is the studios’ artist in residence, Irina Kuksova. Having already worked her magic on a mural out on Theatre Lane‘s main boulevard, Irina now brightens up the inside of the studios too, with this eye-catching and mind-bending mural at the end of the 1st floor hallway.

What a face! What a painting!
And the beautiful thing is, the subject – a young ballerina – has a deep connection to Greystones studio, for teenager Jasmine’s mum, Rachel, runs The Goode School of Dance, one of the longest-running ballet schools in Wicklow.
This incredible work should be completely finished and installed by the second week in May, but, for now, we caught up with Irina in the early stages, to talk inspiration, perspiration and, eh, dance nation.
