t’s been a busy time for Wicklow Choral Society, with a series of major concerts as 2025 eases its way into 2026.

And for anyone curious about getting a little more harmony and sweet, sweet music into their lives, the gang are also looking for a little help from their fans.

You can become a patron for €60, which comes with two concert tickets, reserved seating and your name in the programme. There’s also the option for those unable to attend to become sponsors too, or if you’re truly somebody, there’s always the option to run an ad in that commemorative brochure. Now, back to the gang’s busy dance card. The first big concert happened at The Holy Rosary Church here in sunny Greystones on Saturday, October 18th, Greatest Choral Hits doing exactly what it says on the din. From Bach to Jenkins and beyond, this is the perfect chance to catch this acclaimed choir in full flight as they explore the history of popular choral works. 

On Saturday, December 13th at St Patrick’s Church in Wicklow Town, it proved to be the right time for Festive Carols, the choir being joined by a brass ensemble to ensure their Hallelujah chorus reaches all the way up to the man upstairs.

Jumping to 2026, and Sunday, May 17th, Brahms’ Requiem is the season finale, with full orchestra and soloists joining the choir this time, again at St Patrick’s Church in Wicklow Town.

With the Bingham lad once again waving his tiny stick about, his favourite soprano, Aoife O’Connell will be joined by baritone Owen Gilhooly-Miles as special guests for the night. Kick-off is 8pm and tickets are €20 right here.

And congrats to young James, recently appointed the Head of Music and Opera at The Arts Council of Ireland. So, you know, the lad clearly knows what he’s doing. With that tiny stick.
