he gang at Wicklow Dementia Support has been in touch about their regular shout out for Alzpals…

This vital organisation helps those who are helping those with the onset of dementia.

Basically a befriending service which supports people with dementia and who are living at home, becoming one of the AlzPals means getting full free training, with Garda vetting reference checks, support and ongoing mentoring.

And we’re talking just two hours a week.

They are also looking for volunteers to support people living with memory loss who will attend the new Cognitive Stimulation Therapy group in the Villa Pacis Centre, Bray. Clients attending this group are in the early stages of dementia. Your role will be to help the session leader and encourage the involvement of those attending. The sessions will take place each Wednesday morning between 10.30am and 12.30pm.
