You Can Dance! You Can Jive!

o be fair, the night was always going to be special…

As we’d experienced with Grease back on May 27th, the very act of gathering down at The Cove to watch a movie at night is just a gloriously silly and exceedingly giddy thing to do.

Akin to getting a coach trip to Sodom & Begorrah, all of us, huddled together, with the sea at our back, the moon in the sky, and a great big movie screen in front of us – sure, all you need is a drop of good weather, and you’re off and runnin’.

And, Jaysus, did we get good weather. As Mamma Mia! blasted over the system, quite a few people quipped that, holy, weren’t we in Greece, sitting on a beach on this balmy July night.

People dressed up, people danced, people laughed, and people gobbled free ice-cream, free popcorn, yummy Beast pizza (catch em’ Weds to Sun at The Boat Yard, peoples!), and whatever naughty little treats they had brought along in their bags.

The Abba hits flowed along with the liquid refreshments, whilst Pierce Brosnan sang like a duck being scraped across a blackboard.

To top it all, the moon was feckin’ warm. Warm, I tells ya!
