ep, if you’re looking for trouble, as you can tell by Tommaso’s face, you’ve come to the right place.
It’s that time of year once again when Greystonians nervously voted for their favourite java joint.
And that meant the undisputed coffee champ had to get ready to rumble yet again, keen to add a sixth consecutive title win to his mantlepiece.
With Greystones having turned into a major foodie town over those five years, Mr Chuckles was well aware that the competition was going to be even tougher this year. And that meant turning up the heat on those who might just dare to vote for another coffee shop.
Sure, in 2018, wasn’t he neck-and-neck with those young Eleven Deli upstarts? Mercifully, normal service was resumed in 2019.
So, people had to be careful about how they voted. And how often. We are dealing with a complete and utter barista here, and one who, should you ever consider favouring a rival, would happily make you a knuckle sandwich that you can’t refuse.
The competition was open for the month of October 2020, and there’s a prize of a yummy Lunch For Two in the winning eaterie for one of the lucky readers.
In the end, the vote for your favourite Greystones coffee joint may have had a few young faves in the race (such as the pluckyCafé Gourmet), but, yep, Tommaso has gone and won it again…
We have to give a big, big shout-out to Jim and The Wood Group Homes – Churchlands is now open – for sponsoring this annual coffee love-in once again…
In the meantime, you can jump back through Tommaso’s previous title fights right about here.
