was thinking of getting a shiny tracksuit, a loan of a few rottweilers and a snake for this…
“Just to scare the bejaysus out of Greystones.”
Ross gives Caoimhe a look, and the young couple break into laughing. Having just won themselves a swanky Greystones apartment, the twentysomethings are still on a bit of a high since getting the news last Sunday.
“We were just sitting together, and I thought we’d better check the raffle, see who’d won,” says Caoimhe, her eyes lighting up at the memory. “When I saw my name and picture, I just kept thinking, okay, I know we entered, but who won…?”
Organised by Alan and Ann Marie Sparks and launched back in May, the Eden Gate raffle made the national press as more and more home owners take that gamble of selling a whole bunch of tickets rather than going to a real estate. And last Sunday, that €20 gamble paid off for Ross and Caoimhe.
Also winning on the night was The Ross Nugent Foundation, set up by Alan and Ann Marie to raise funds for the oncology wards in Beaumont and other hospitals. You can find out more about the foundation here, and donate or get involved in fundraising here.
In the meantime, we spoke with Caoimhe (Ross was camera-shy) to find out just what if feels like when your dream home comes true…
