or Greystones mum Kim Shanley, dealing with the loss of her baby girl three weeks ago has been devastating.
Part of the grieving process for both Kim and her partner, Vince, will be taking on this month’s Walk To Remember challenge in their daughter Amira’s memory, whilst also raising money for a very worthy organisation.
The money raised from their 100,000 steps throughout October will go to the National Maternity Hospital Foundation, who have helped thousands of families in need of some extra loving care.
Posting on social media earlier today, Kim stated…
We lost our beautiful, precious, Princess Amira 3 weeks ago. It has been the hardest thing to ever go through.
We are even now, still in a state of shock.
We have been offered a lot of help, and when we are ready, we will take it.
Myself and Vince are going to do this Walk To Remember on behalf of our baby girl, to do something in her honour and to raise funds for families in our position. The funds go to bereavement counselling and support for parents and siblings, and to The National Maternity Hospital, where all my babies were born.
We will walk (at least) 100,000 steps in October. I’ll keep you all posted on how we are doing, and I’m sure we will do you all proud.
Even €1 will add to a total that can help someone in need. Thank you all for your ongoing support.
