Organised by Conor O’Donnell – the man behind Big Muddy, and the son of a certain late, great folk legend – Greystones’ Americana & Roots Festival brings together all the hillbilly heaven that the US has to offer.
Given that rock’n’roll is purely country getting into bed with soul, something like the Americana & Roots Festival covers a multitude of musical genres.
What they all have in common is taking the misery of a broken life, heart or car, and turning it into a frickin’ good time.
From Johnny Cash to Fleet Foxes, all human life is here.
And it’s ready to party. And fight. And hug.
Thanks to John McGowan for capturing the weekend. The full selection of shots is right about here.
