He walks the line…

t’s a cold and wet summer morning out there, but then, Stephen Stokes is going to have to get used to that idea.

For, on July 1st, the Greystones man is heading out to cover the entire Wicklow Way.

That’s 131 kilometres. Or 91.3996 miles, in old money.

The reason young Stephen is setting himself such a hefty hike is to raise funds for Greystones’ much-loved and much-needed First Responders.

Thanks to lockdown, the gang’s annual table quiz fundraiser has gone out the window, and young Stokes is determined to try and help plug that financial hole for this coming year.

A former mayor of the town, and the son of the mighty Bernie, it’s perhaps unsurprising that Stephen is stepping up to the plate. Still, 131 kilometres. That’s a lot of miles.
