Join The International Coastal Cleanup

To mark The Big Beach Clean this coming weekend, the good people of Greystones are being called up to take part in this global ocean love-in.

And even if picking up a few pieces of litter might feel like a drop in that ocean, hey, it all adds up.

Inspired by April’s Take 3 For The Sea campaign to clear our seas of plastic, we reckon if even 100th of the Greystones population were to swing by our beaches this weekend and simply take away three pieces of rubbish, we’ll have a shiny, happy seafront by nightfall.

Having hit the magic million mark for the very first time in their 34-year history, the International Coastal Cleanup are hoping for a similar if not greater number of volunteers in 2019. To date, over 100 people along the Wicklow coast have signed up. And you can do so right about here.

The Greystones Tidy Towns kids are there to help too, should you want to join a gang – just email [email protected].

So, let’s do this, people. Just takes a minute, and the good feeling will last at least a week.
