Other fans declared that this was suddenly a big need in their lives, with former star Carmen Electra reacted with ‘Yasss’ over on the NME message board, an exclamation that naturally came with a side order of heart emojis. We haven’t yet been able to confirm if Sinead was ever a big fan of Ms Electra’s.

With Roisin performing alongside other artists such as The Violent Femmes, Josh Ritter, Imelda May, Billy Bragg and The Dropkick Murphys, the March 20th concert was a tribute to both Sinead O’Connor and Shane MacGowan, the $70,000 raised on the night going to PEN America, a non-profit organisation which highlights the protection of free expression in the US and around the world.
