Wicklow Fine Gael Minister Simon Harris TD today visited 5th class in St Kevin’s NS after 11 year old Cian Cronin wrote a letter to him requesting he participate in his class project about making their community in Greystones a better place.

Minister Harris said: “I was delighted to receive a handwritten letter from Cian last week outlining his class project and asking if I would call to the school and participate.

“Ms Sherry’s 5th class pupils are at present working on a project about how people can make our community a better place. I was delighted to answer their questions on how people work together in the community to improve amenities and services and how they do can take practical small steps to make their neighbourhood a better place.

“I especially want to thank Cian Cronin for writing to me and inviting me to meet his class and to class teacher Ms Sherry who asked me to read some selected poetry and discuss with the students my favourite books as part of their reading week.”

The Minister also met with the school principal Ms Bailey regarding his work to progress the school’s extension to facilitate its ASD Unit.

“I am supporting St Kevin’s work in securing an extension for their new autism classes,” Harris concluded.

“St Kevin’s is a great school and I look forward to helping the school expand and develop its extension as speedily as possible”.
