There was a great turnout this morning for the recording of Confessions Of A Lonely Soul: Exploring Faith, Community, and Journey, a new reflective podcast series, Confessions of a Lonely Soul.
Held in Kilian House Family Centre as part of the Women In Faith breakfast gatherings, the community was invited to gather and share their experiences of faith and resilience in times of distress and difficulty.
Drawing from the experience of three speakers – Laura Wood, Anne Dempsey and Mila Hancock – the gathering explored the personal and cultural experiences of leaving home, faith being an anchor in a secular world, and the evolving meaning of faith in challenging times.
The conversations formed the beginning of a three-part podcast by the Women of Faith into themes such as:
⦿ Growing up in Greystones: What it was like to have faith, be Christian, and having a Catholic identity in a changing world.
⦿ Faith as an Anchor: The role of Catholic faith—not just as ritual, but as a constant presence, especially in times of loss and transition.
⦿ Cultural Context: Reflections on marriage, family, migration, and the impact of November—a month often associated with remembrance and reflection.
⦿ Personal Journeys: How faith and community shape our lives, and how individuals relate to the idea of being a l’onely soul’.
Technical support for the morning gathering was provided by Media TY students from St. Davids School.
And the man behind the camera, as always, was John McGowan. Full gallery of hi-res pics from the morning here.
