Which means that, even with no particular party happening, the town would have been busy anyway.
Still, there were plenty of smiling, happy people to go round, meaning that this year’s Burnaby
Vintage Day was once again a roaring retro success.
There was welly-throwing and wobby tractors, egg & spoon races and a Foster & Allen lookalike competition.
As expected, Mary Mulcahy and Florence Hicklebottom won the latter.
And there was, of course, our no.1 roving photographer, John McGowan, who has had, it
would seem, an even busier weekend than GG.
Man, we can’t wait for autumn to kick in, when people can just get their teeth out and put their feet up.
Shout out to Elise Desmet too, for the above sack race shot. A shot so good it makes the Sweeney lad look almost cool.
