Cliff Walk Pic Wins Biodiversity Top Spot

Taken by Brenda Sheridan, the judges described the winning shot as “simple, clean and well composed – an endearing image”.

There were other worthy entries, of course, in this year’s competition, with Anne Marie Mockler’s morning hare coming in second and a gannet fishing taken by Suzanne Behan scooping third prize.

Each of the entries revealing the patience and precision of Brian Keeley in full flight.

“We considered some 15 images which were real contenders,” said judges Frank Miller and Nick Bradshaw (a former and a current Irish Times photographer respectively).

“But at the end of the day we had to make those difficult choices, and we chose the top three images and awarded six high commended.

“In truth, the top 10 or so images deserved highly commended status.”

The Biodiversity Photographer Of The Year exhibition kicks off today at the Rediscovery Centre in Ballymun until July 31st.
