t’s just about the most popular hangout spot in Greystones, so The Cove gets more than its fair share of wear agus tear.
As anyone who has witnessed that dirty big crack in the wall overlooking this little beauty spot will testify.
Starting on August 8th, Wicklow County Council will be carrying out some repair works down at The Cove, impacting, they say, ‘mainly on pedestrian access on a portion of Cliff Road‘.
Which means that diversions will be in place.
The €125,000 coastal protection works are ‘necessary for the continued protection of the public road from the sea’, and are expected to take approximately 2 months to complete.
There will also be major works from August 8th on the Kilcoole Road between the Knockroe roundabout and the Three Trout Bridge. This one is expected to be done and dusted in four months.
At least, that’s the plan. Works around here sometimes drag on a little longer than they should.
