oung mum-about-town Aoife Clifford has been in touch about a new care and support group for parents in the area.

Meeting every Tuesday in Greystones, as well as Wednesdays in Roundwood and Thursdays in Bray, the idea is to give everyone from a bump to a teen a place to gather and share their thoughts, stories and biscuits.

Here’s the lowdown…

Who or what is Cuidiú?
The Irish name Cuidiú means care and support for all parents with bumps or babes, tots or teens. We are a parent-to-parent support group in Ireland, run by volunteer parents. Cuidiú is a registered charity and is run entirely by volunteers.

What do we do?
Cuidiúʼs motto is education and support for parenthood. Our aim is to provide information to parents which allows them to make informed choices about pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding and to provide a supportive background to empower parents to act upon their decisions.

Here in North Wicklow, we offer local support and reliable information to help all parents and caregivers. We have weekly breastfeeding support, plus playgroups in Bray, Greystones and Roundwood. We also run first aid courses, baby swimming classes, nature walks and will soon offer parent to parent support sessions and antenatal courses.
