Darren In €4.7m West Ham Deal

He’s come a long way from his days at Ardmore Rovers, Bray’s Darren Randolph having now amassed 34 caps as the Ireland squad’s goalkeeper.

And just to show that he really is a keeper, West Ham have just signed up the Randolph lad in a €4.7m deal.

Son of Tallahassee basketball icon Ed Randolph and chanteuse Mayo mum, Anne, Darren will be returning to the London club from Championship side Middlesborough.

The deal finally went through this week after the former Presentation College lad passed further medical checks on a thigh injury that had threatened to negate the deal.

Which may also explain why the Irish goalkeeper hasn’t played a competitive match since November 24th.

The 32-year-old is likely to make cover for the injured Lukasz Fabianski this Sunday, when West Ham face Everton at the London Stadium.
