We’re a complicated piece of machinery, and that means there are a thousand and one little glitches just waiting to happen.

Especially on weekends. And when the sun goes down.

Thankfully, Greystones and the north Wicklow area finally has its out-of-hours urgent GP service up and running, North Doc Medical Services having got the thumbs up from young Harris last November.

Operating Monday to Friday, 6pm to 8am, and 24-hours-a-day on weekends and all Public and Bank Holidays, you can call 012234500 whenever you have a medical emergency.

Once you’ve explained your dilemma, notes will be taken, and a nurse or doctor will ring you back, with advice on what to do, or to make an arrangement to see a doctor in one of their centres.
