D’Oh! A Deer! A Frickin’ Deer!

As the man behind the camera says, it’s not a sight you see every day around Greystones.

A dirty big deer – or is it a stag? – running loose around the town’s Park & Ride, clearly a few miles from home.

According to the local gardaí, this is not that rare an occurrence around these parts these days, given the humongous amount of housing estates spreading across all those pesky fields and woodlands.

Just how our boy here made it all the way to the Park & Ride at the seafront, given that’s largely surrounded by houses, is a mystery, but, perhaps it’s time we started planning for such cuckoos being forced into our nests.

By making sure these beautiful, wild creatures will always have a nest of their own.
