Well, we’re fair excited and damned delighted here at GG HQ to find out that today, a fine young army of Greystones girls were crowned champion.
Yep, Éire Óg Greystones GAA have just announced that their Under 14s ladies football team have been crowned champions.
Exactly what they are champions of – Wicklow? Ireland? The Universe? – is hard to decipher, given that the Éire Óg squad haven’t actually released that information anywhere. Certainly not online, anyway, where much of Wicklow, Ireland and the Universe now get their news.
So, we’ll just say congrats to all the girls involved – except Chloe Leonard; she’s an eejit – and to the team’s managers, Shay Ahern and Michael Moore.
Add that to boys U14s being declared All Ireland Feile Champions in June, and, bejiggers, they must be doing something right down at that club.
Here’s to next year, and another grand Wicklow/Ireland/Universe victory!
