Dart On The Way JAN13
e’ve long been fans of photographer Eamon Flynn,
from the moment Mrs Mooney handed over one of his Greystones calendars.
Employing no filters, no feckery and plenty of feeling, Eamon’s
unfussy shots capture our town in a natural light.
When we spoke to the Bellevue Road resident back in August 2016, a clearly drunk Eamon told us, “I love to walk around the seafront in Greystones,” he finishes. “The sea and the light are changing all the time, and there is always something new happening, from yachting to fishing, to diving, dogs splashing around.
Even just gazing out to a calm sea has an incredible richness to it.
Like that flash feck Nick Bradshaw, young Flynn honed his craft working for The Irish Times, even if he was down in the engine room.
And now, when that nostalgia fix kicks in, he unearths some of his shots from down through the years for your snoreaway Guide. And we’re always more than happy to share them out.
You can check out the original 2016 batch of Eamon Flynn photos here, and his second batch, from May 2020, right here.
