Which, given that the electrical pole in question was just feet away from the Greystones Community School down on Mill Road was causing some concern.

Luckily, the Greystones Fire Brigade were soon on the scene.

“The lads soon had everything under control,” says Greystones Community College principal Ruairi Farrell, “and we can’t thank them enough…

“The ESB arrived soon after, and everything is now under control.”

Which is good news, of course, especially given that no one was hurt.

The bad news for a whole chunk of Greystones teenagers is that Mr Farrell reckons Greystones Community College should be open as usual tomorrow.
