Fishermen Forgetting To Sling Their Hooks

It is, of course, a fine way to relax, get in touch with nature, and bag yourself something for din-dins too.

Yep, fishing off the harbour wall is something that our father’s, and our father’s father, and even our father’s mother’s father, have enjoyed in Greystones ever since the string-on-a-stick was invented.

As with so many wonders of this world, there’s a catch though. Or, to be more precise, a hook – and it’s just as important to bringing that fishing hook with you to the waterfront as it is to take it home.

Because when you don’t manage to achieve the latter, dogs like Blue have to spend their Saturday afternoons up in Blacklion Vets getting a hook removed from their mouths.

So, just remember, fishermen and fisherwomen of Greystones, leave no trace. Or plaice.

Or else.

There’s enough shite and onions going on down at the harbour without another bucket of BS being upended.
